Vector vs Raster Checker

Not every file that opens in Illustrator is actually vector. This tool inspects the file structure and tells you, honestly, whether it's built from scalable paths or from pixels wearing a vector file extension.

AI, EPS and native Photoshop/Illustrator files can't be inspected reliably in a browser. Export as PDF or SVG first, or send the original to us directly for a proper check.

Upload a file to see whether it's genuinely vector.

File typeWhat we can tell you
.svgChecked Parsed directly: reports whether it contains real paths/shapes or is just an embedded raster image wrapped in SVG.
.pdfChecked Scans page content for vector drawing operators versus embedded raster images.
.png / .jpgAlways raster These formats are pixel-based by definition. They can look sharp on screen and still fail at print size.
A file can be "mixed": real vector text and shapes sitting on top of a raster background image. We flag this rather than giving a false pass or fail.

Only have a raster export of your logo? We rebuild it as a true vector file — SVG, EPS, AI and PDF — by hand.
